Dr. Parikh completed his medical studies from BJ Medical College, Pune and Seth GS Medical College Mumbai. Dr.Parikh stood overall First in Mumbai University at the final DM (Neonatology) examinations. Dr.Parikh has further undergone training in Advanced Neonatal Care from Westmead Perinatal Center, Sydney and Completed his Fellowship from Caroline Chisolm Perinatal Center, Liverpool. Dr. Parikh is one of the handful Neonatologist in India with both, DM qualification and Neonatal Perinatal fellowship from Australia.

Dr. Parikh is treating sick Newborns since January 1998. During the last 13 years that he is practising Neonatology, he has earned accolades at National and International level. Dr.Parikh is recepient of the prestigious GOLD MEDAL from Indian Academy of Pediatrics for his doctoral research. Dr.Parikh has more than 40 scientific publications to his credit, which include chapters in Neonatal Textbooks and some landmark research papers in Journals of International repute. He has been a regular manuscript reviewer for several international medical journals.  He has played key role in setting up NICU protocols in India and abroad. Dr. Parikh was awarded ‘Medical outperformer of the year’ award at Westmead Perinatal Center in Australia for his contribution in establishing new protocols. Dr.Parikh has contributed in several international research projects sponsored by MRC (UK), NIH (USA), SNL (USA), ICMR (India) and NHMRC (Australia). 

Since his return to India in 2009, he is Heading Neonatal ICU at ONP Hospitals. He has revolutionised premature newborn care in Pune with best possible results for sick and premature babies. Survival of the smallest birthweight baby in India under his care, is a testimony of his great skills as a clinician.

Dr.Parikh has expertise in Neonatal Ventilator Support (including High Frequency and Nitric Oxide Therapy), Total Parenteral Nutrition, Neonatal functional Echocardiography (for early targeted management of PDA), Management of Extreme Premature Neonates and Therapeutic Hypothermia for Asphyxia. He is one of the handful Neonatologist in India who regularly perform serial bedside fECHO in sick newborns.

Dr. Parikh continues to be very active academically despite his busy clinical committments. Neonatologist of Maharashtra State have elected him for the position of Secretary general of Maharashtra State Chapter of National Neonatology Forum (NNF). This has widened his horizons to contribute to the society in a bigger way. Dr. Parikh is a popular speaker and is much sought after by medical colleges and academic & scientific fora to teach Postgraduate Students, Nurses, Paramedical Staff and Pediatricians. Dr.Parikh is a certified National Trainer for Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and Navjat Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (NSSK) by Govt. of India.

Dr. Parikh's interests other than Neonatology include, photography, sports and travel. Dr. Parikh has represented BJ Medical College in Table tennis at various National tournaments.
